A pickup truck struck a ferry parking attendant in Point Judith on May 1.

Interstate Navigation Director of Security Bill McCombe said the pickup was backing up onto the ferry around 9 a.m. when it hit employee Martin Donovan, causing him to fall to the ground. Donovan, who had his back turned, suffered minor injuries and was transported to South County Hospital and released the same day. The ferry departure was delayed by about 30 minutes after the collision.
