This year's Race Week promises to be bigger than Race Week 2002, said a representative of the company that managed the event two years ago and will do so again this year.

Ted Zuse, events manager of Zuse Inc., said last month that the company has received 95 registrations so far, and he expects more than 100 boats to sign up for the event. The total number of participants in 2002 was 80.

As of late March, 28 people had registered in the J/105 class, and eight signed up for the Soverel 33 class, up from the two who did in 2002. Roughly 10 boats make up the IMS-40 class.

Race Week will take place from June 21 to 25. The race headquarters will again be at the Block Island Boat Basin.

There's no limit to the number of boats that participate, Zuse said. The deadline to register is June 1. For more information, visit blockislandraceweek.org.
