On March 1, 2009 the Block Island Times switched web hosts to Utah-based Matchbin. The company offers more services and more powerful backend system than our previous host. That said we haven't worked out all the bugs yet. We're asking for your help to identify the bumps in the road and tell us what you'd like to see on the site. Of course we'd also love to hear what you like about the site, too. The Times is your community newspaper and the website should be your community site. - RSS feed (Implemented 4/10/09)
- E-mail newsletter
- SMS (Text Message) Breaking News Alerts (Expected launch, Fall 2009)
- Twitter account for breaking news alerts (Implemented 4/2/09)

Why aren’t there ever any classifieds posted.  I always look for things that are for sale, or help wanted, summer rentals and the classified page is always empty.

You can still find the Realors on our site. Put your mouse over local businesses and select Real Estate/Rentals. 


You can search our prior issues using the search bar at the top. Unfortunately, we don’t have a way to look at each issue by itself.

Before, I loved being able to click thru the BITimes to get to realtors’ sites (to look for rentals)-
Also I don’t see any place to look for archived past issues.
